Hooray for the Red, White, and Blue!!!

Independence Day
July 4

One of our TV stations is showing some of Andy Griffith's own favorites of his shows, so we're watching before going over to some friends' house to celebrate.  Rest in Peace, Andy.

Love these beautiful tags from a few years ago!

I'm taking Broccoli Salad and a Victoria Sponge Cake filled with whipped cream, blueberries, and raspberries to our friends.  Meant to try the Victoria cake recipe for the Queen's Jubilee, but didn't get to it then so this seemed like a good time. Must take a picture when I get it put together!

Happy Fourth of July!

    Happy 4th of July.
Flooding would be so bad. I am glad I live on a hill. Now the West is having Monsoon rains. Never heard of this but it's happening. Saw that there is now flooding. I hope at least the fires go out.
Still no power for our village. But I am thankull. Our temps seem to be staying around 95. Yuck.

  7. Hi Jane and thanks for posting a comment over on Retired in Alaska. You asked if my grandson might get stationed in Alaska. Yes he has already his first assignment was a year in a remote Loran station up in the arctic. Only 20 of them there and no family could be there. He is also kicking himself for not picking his home of Kodiak over Chesapeake VA. when he had a chance. He is really missing Alaska right about now and sees he should have picked Kodiak.
